A Poem to My Child

To my darling baby,

In my arms I have held the most precious
thing known to mankind. With ten little
fingers and ten little toes, hair of brown
and eyes of blue so little and fragile I didn’t
ever want to let go. As you looked up at me
with such loving eyes and a trusting soul,
then I knew I had to let you go.

I’ve placed you in the arms of those I know
will take great care of you. Your life will
be happy and secure. You will be loved
just as much as I love you myself. This I
am trusting with faith and with love.

One day I hope you will grow to
understand it was out of complete love for
you that with a kiss on your cheek and tear
filled eyes that I placed you in the arms of
the one you will call Mommy.

Forever and always . . .

Your Birth Mom
